Here's my Illustration Friday submission for Entangled. Every once in a while I get to go fishing and I think anyone who has fished from an embankment has either been victim to this or seen the evidence of someone else's misfortune.
In my drawing, the limbs are entangled and the lure has found its way into the mess.
I've been working on a new painting and continue to work on a very large house drawing. Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving.
This is wonderful! Not being a fisherman, but more of a hiker, my first reaction was "Ouch!".
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful drawing and great idea to illustrate entangled. My favorite so far I think.
ReplyDeleteGreat illustration! Oh, the pain it must be like to see this happen to your line! Wonderful concept for this week..thank you so much for stopping by so that I can enjoy your work!
ReplyDeleteFantastic drawing, Dave! I really admire line drawings like yours, so much detail and such strong line work and shadows. Really impressive, and indeed a great take on the topic...
ReplyDeleteReally nice tones you've pencilled here. It has a great feel to it.
ReplyDeleteNice drawing - I love all of your drawings in your blog, such a great style.
ReplyDeleteWow...what a beautiful drawing! Anyone that's ever fished has experienced this. I'll be sure to visit your site regularly.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could work with pencil like this! Love the cropping, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Dave! Your drawings and paintings are so detailed and impressive. Your 'entanglement' brings back a fond memory for me of being up at a friends cottage and heading out into the very rustic brush for a canoe ride. Much of the ride, not only the start, was so much work to keep from getting tangled up in branches that seemed to be coming from everywhere. But it was fun, and sooo muddy!
ReplyDeleteThe details in your drawings are incredible! you are very talented :-)
ReplyDeletedave, you do amazing drawings! regards.
ReplyDeleteYou've captured the moment here - albeit a frustrating one for the fisher!! Thanks for passing by, it's always good to come over your way to see what you're up to! Caroline.
